As a hairstylist for over 30 years I have learned and heard everything in so many walks of life, With that I have listened and learned and have been thanked many times for helping people with their situation, always being told " You would be a great counselor". I love helping people get away from their past and see things different for their future, so I really wanted to become a coach and help people live a life they would love to live!

I have been where you are, I didn't have any support as I headed out in the world alone. I always wanted to be in the medical field, felt so lost and struggled to go on that journey. I had moved 28 times as I grew up, for the most part from Colorado to Oregon and back to Colorado and back again to Oregon, always a different school and different cities, At the age of 17, in June I graduated, a week later my parents said "since you are an adult now, you need to find somewhere to live" I ended up sleeping on the floor at a girlfriends house. From there I went to a junior college, working hard to make enough money to pay rent, eat and pay for my classes. I did not know at all that I could have tried to get a loan, I had no information, and because I did not have connections with friends, calling anyone even out of your city was long distance back then, and internet was way far in the future, so I had to quit and was going to go back to the small town where I actually could get my job back and my plan was to save and go back to college some day.

I went back and a friend there was going to pick up her supplies for beauty school and asked me to come with her. The women we met, owned her salon and asked me what I was planning for my future, after I told her, she said "you would be a great hairstylist" Her parents owned 2 beauty schools and she said it would be free if I promised to come back and work for her after I graduated. this beautiful stranger gave me a direction and support, I had never thought about doing hair for a moment and that was over 30 years ago having a career that supported me.

I do feel blessed that I have been very successful as a hairstylist. I did always think I would go back and pursue a medical field. Things in life took over...marriage and then divorce...3 young children and no child support. I was able to give my children that are adults now, the support and education we all want. They all have great careers, and so I still do hair, though have been doing lots of coaching too, and just love it.

I have spent the last 8 years getting many certifications, and have my foundation certification with the "Brave Thinking Institute" as a" Dream Builder Coach." It was a big investment that I finally gave to myself. I really love this path, I have a 12 week course that really helps you come from where you are and go to the dream you want. With the support you are wishing you had. It also comes with an e-kit that you can go back over the rest of your life full of so much information.
